Converting to Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Excel 2007

This one-day course looks at the changes in Microsoft Word 2007 and also Microsoft Excel 2007 and is specifically for experienced users of these packages in earlier versions who have upgraded their software and are looking at converting their skills.

  • Using the Ribbon, and Dialog Box Launchers
  • Customise the Quick Access Toolbar
  • Printing and saving in PDF format
  • Modify the status bar information

Excel

  • Learn about formatting cells and styles
  • Copying and pasting as a picture
  • Headers and footers in sheets
  • Creating and updating charts
  • Working with lists, sorting and filtering

Word

  • Displaying the Ruler
  • Inserting documents into other documents
  • Using the new Quick Style Gallery
  • Laying out documents with tabs & tables
  • Creating Quick Parts to speed up text entry
  • Performing a Word mail merge

Who would benefit from the course?

People who have upgraded to Office 2007 having been experienced users of version 2003 or earlier and now want get up and running quickly.

Pre-requisites

Users should have a good knowledge of Office 2003 or earlier versions or have attended our Word Beyond the Basics course and the Excel Beyond the Basics course.
